After an absence of almost three years from the music scene, the renowned rock band Aurthohin from Bangladesh has revealed plans to launch a fresh album titled “Phoenix’s Diary 2” on October 17. Preceding the album release, the band will host a private listening session on October 10, followed by a tour in the United States from late October to mid-December. The tour will cover various cities including New York, Pennsylvania, Los Angeles, Chicago, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, and Virginia.
Ehsanul Haq, the manager of Aurthohin, expressed that the upcoming record aims to cater to the expectations of both loyal fans and younger audiences. He emphasized that the album was meticulously crafted to bridge the gap between the band’s existing supporters and contemporary listeners, marking a deliberate effort to re-engage with live audiences following a challenging hiatus.
Fronted by Saidus Salehin Khaled Sumon, affectionately known as BassBaba among fans, Aurthohin confronted a challenging period due to Sumon’s health struggles in recent years, involving battles with cancer and spinal cord issues. These health setbacks necessitated a reduction in performances and the postponement of band activities. With Sumon’s health now showing signs of improvement, Aurthohin is gearing up to resume their regular touring schedule.
The current lineup of Aurthohin comprises Sumon, drummer Mark Don, and guitarist Ehtesham Ali. The band’s manager hinted at the possibility of expanding the US tour to include up to twelve cities, with specific venues and dates to be disclosed on the band’s social media platforms.
For long-standing Aurthohin enthusiasts, the return of new music and an extensive international tour signifies more than a mere commercial endeavor; it symbolizes a resilient stance against adversity and a commitment to nurturing the live music scene on a global scale. Fans can anticipate the album launch on October 17 and the listening session on October 10, with further tour updates to be shared through Aurthohin’s official communication channels.
