An Ansar officer stationed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka has been fired from his position for attempting to steal mobile phones from a burnt structure within the airport’s cargo village. The Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) headquarters officially confirmed this incident in a recent press statement. The dismissal came after the officer, identified as Janarul Islam, was caught during the act between 10:30 pm on Wednesday and 6:30 am on Thursday while he was on duty for the night shift.

According to reports, the officer, driven by greed, tried to conceal feature phones among the debris of a building that had been severely damaged by a fire. Authorities took immediate action and apprehended him at the scene. The release mentioned that the officer was terminated for breaching the force’s regulations and ethical standards. It also emphasized the organization’s unwavering commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against any form of misconduct to prevent such incidents and uphold the organization’s integrity.

The cargo complex at Dhaka airport suffered a fire incident on October 18, resulting in severe damage to the building and the stored goods.
