Bangladesh’s hopes of reaching the final of the CAVA (Central Asian Volleyball Association) Cup were dashed as they suffered a 3-1 sets loss to Afghanistan in their last group game at the Shaheed Suhrawardi Indoor Stadium in Mirpur on Monday.
With this defeat, Bangladesh faced their second consecutive loss, enabling Afghanistan, with four victories out of five matches, to advance to the final against Turkmenistan, who had previously defeated Bangladesh 3-2 in sets on Sunday.
Despite having won against Afghanistan twice in warm-up games, the home team managed to secure the first set with a score of 25-23. However, Afghanistan dominated the following three sets with scores of 25-20, 25-23, and 25-19.
The final match between Turkmenistan and Afghanistan is scheduled to take place today at the same venue.
