Pranto, a burgeoning actor, shares that his father’s unrealized ambition in theater passed on to him, leading him to pursue acting. Over the years, Abid Bin Parvez Pranto has showcased his versatility in various roles, starting from commercials such as Grameenphone, KFC, and bKash to becoming the face of Duronto Bicycle.
Transitioning from commercials to short films like “Lift Together” and “Ek Guccho Kodom” under Closeup’s “Kache Ashar Golpo” series, Pranto gained audience warmth and honed his craft beyond being just a familiar face on screen. His breakthrough came with his fiction debut in “Khalid”, where he delved into method acting, pushing his boundaries by fasting before crucial scenes to bring raw authenticity to his performance.
In a rare move for a young actor, Pranto embraced method acting, believing that even small roles can leave a lasting impression on viewers. His willingness to experiment with different looks and roles in TVCs and short films showcases his dedication to his craft.
Apart from acting, Pranto has explored his creativity behind the camera by directing independent projects with Mafia Entertainment Original. While he sees directing as a creative outlet rather than a primary career focus, Pranto values the opportunities these projects provide for experimentation and collaboration.
Inspired by actor Shakib Khan, Pranto is venturing into action roles and has begun training in mixed martial arts to add physical authenticity to his performances. He aims to carve his own niche in the industry and avoid being typecast, drawing inspiration from his idol while striving for versatility.
Pranto acknowledges the invaluable guidance he receives from directors on set, helping him discover nuances in his characters and develop a unique on-screen persona. With upcoming projects like NTV’s “Delete History”, Vicky Zahed’s “Khowabnama” on YouTube, and the sequel “Khalid 2” directed by Taneem Rahman Angshu, Pranto is focused on continuing to expand his acting repertoire.
