A variety of movies are set to be released during Eid-ul-Fitr. In a special series focusing on the progress of upcoming Eid releases, filmmakers are providing updates on their projects. Recently, director Mehedi Hasan Hridoy discussed his latest film, “Rakkhosh”.
Hridoy, known for directing “Borbaad” featuring Shakib Khan last Eid-ul-Fitr, has now collaborated with Siam Ahmed for “Rakkhosh”, which is currently in its final stages of preparation.
“The filming of ‘Rakkhosh’ has been wrapped up, and we are now in the post-production phase. Editing and dubbing are progressing simultaneously. Our aim is to complete all tasks on schedule and submit the film for certification,” stated the director.
Regarding the promotional strategy, Hridoy mentioned that an announcement video and a still image of Siam Ahmed have already been released. The official poster is set to be unveiled this week, followed by the teaser and songs in stages.
Production for “Rakkhosh” commenced in Dhaka last December, with a significant portion of the film shot in Sri Lanka. Hridoy praised the dedication of the cast during filming and teased surprises in the movie, ranging from casting decisions to an item song.
Discussing the plot, the director revealed that the film revolves around a “crazy love story” intertwined with family drama. He also noted that “Rakkhosh” contains more intense scenes compared to “Borbaad”.
Siam Ahmed stars alongside Sushmita Chatterjee in the film. Hridoy emphasized that their on-screen chemistry feels genuine and organic.
Despite concerns about securing enough cinema halls for the multitude of films releasing this Eid, Hridoy remains optimistic. He highlighted the lineup of strong films for the season, including Shakib Khan’s “Prince”, Afran Nisho’s “Domm” directed by Redoan Rony, Raihan Rafi’s “Pressure Cooker”, and “Bonolota Express” featuring Mosharraf Karim and Chanchal Chowdhury.
Reflecting on the success of Tanim Noor’s “Utshob” last Eid, Hridoy acknowledged the heightened audience expectations post “Borbaad”. He expressed confidence in Siam Ahmed’s recent performances and anticipated that “Rakkhosh” would garner significant attention during the Eid festivities.
