“Good Samaritan Shot Dead in Chattogram Cattle Theft”

A man aged 70 was fatally shot while trying to prevent a cattle theft in Chandanaish upazila of Chattogram earlier today. The victim, Chandan Dey, confronted the robbers at his cowshed in Badurpara area around 4:45 am, according to Officer-in-Charge Eliash Khan of Chandanaish Police Station. The thieves took one cow from his cowshed and escaped in a pickup van. Chandan was shot in the face as he attempted to stop the thieves’ vehicle while they were taking his cow, resulting in critical injuries that led to his death on the way to the hospital. The gang also stole two more cattle, in addition to the one belonging to Chandan. Chandan’s body was recovered and sent for an autopsy at Chattogram Medical College Hospital morgue. Authorities are actively working to identify and apprehend the perpetrators, as confirmed by the police.
