Anthropic has unveiled Claude Design, a novel tool that empowers users to collaborate with its AI assistant in crafting visual content like prototypes, slides, wireframes, and marketing materials. The company made this announcement recently.
Claude Design harnesses the capabilities of Claude Opus 4.7, Anthropic’s most advanced vision model. It is currently in a research preview phase for subscribers of Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise packages.
Users of Claude Design can articulate their requirements and receive an initial version, which can then be enhanced through discussions, inline feedback, direct modifications, or personalized adjustment sliders facilitated by Claude. Teams have the option to upload their design system during setup, enabling the tool to automatically apply company-specific colors, typography, and elements to all projects.
The tool accommodates inputs from text prompts, uploaded images and various document formats like DOCX, PPTX, and XLSX, as well as direct extraction from a codebase. Furthermore, a web capture function lets users extract elements from live websites to mirror the actual product in prototypes.
Anthropic highlights several applications of Claude Design, such as transforming static mockups into interactive prototypes, crafting product wireframes for feature sequences, exploring diverse design directions, exporting pitch decks to PPTX or Canva, and producing marketing materials like landing pages and social media assets. The company also emphasizes the tool’s capacity to support prototypes driven by code integrating voice, video, shaders, and 3D components.
Designs can be shared within an organization via URL, with options for viewing only or editing access. Outputs can be exported to Canva, PDF, PPTX, or standalone HTML files. Additionally, a feature called handoff bundle packages completed designs for utilization with Claude Code.
For Enterprise clients, Claude Design is disabled by default and requires activation by administrators in the organization’s settings. Usage is covered within existing subscription plans and is subject to standard limits, with the option to extend usage beyond those limits by activating additional allowances.
