DJI unveils the latest iteration of its compact gimbal camera, the Osmo Pocket 4, featuring a 1-inch CMOS sensor and enhanced video capabilities. The camera, as described in DJI’s official product details, boasts the ability to shoot 4K videos at a remarkable 240 frames per second for high-quality slow-motion footage. Equipped with an f/2.0 aperture lens offering a 20mm equivalent focal length and a focus range spanning from 0.2 meters to infinity, users can capture a wide range of scenes with precision.
An intuitive zoom button allows seamless switching between 1x and 2x lossless zoom modes at a touch. The digital zoom functionality extends up to 4x for 1080p, 3K, and 4K video resolutions. The camera’s three-axis mechanical gimbal ensures smooth stabilization, featuring a controllable pan range of -235 to 58 degrees and a tilt range of -120 to 70 degrees.
With a weight of 190.5 grams and dimensions measuring 144.2 by 44.4 by 33.5 millimeters, the Osmo Pocket 4 packs 107 gigabytes of internal storage and supports microSD cards up to 1 terabyte. Noteworthy features include ActiveTrack 7.0 for subject tracking at up to 4x zoom, subject lock tracking, registered subject priority, and gesture controls like palm detection for activating tracking and using a peace sign to capture photos or commence recording.
Additional enhancements comprise a new 5D joystick for precise camera movement control, two buttons positioned under the 2.0-inch touchscreen for zoom adjustments and a customizable preset button, a resolution of 556×314 pixels, and a long-lasting battery delivering up to 240 minutes of recording time at 1080p 24fps.
