Iran emphasized today that the removal of US sanctions is a crucial component of any potential nuclear agreement with the United States, marking the start of discussions between the two nations in Geneva. Foreign ministry spokesman Emsaeil Baqaei stressed in a video aired on the state-run Press TV that the lifting of sanctions is an essential element in resolving the nuclear issue. Baqaei was also cited by the Fars news agency, reiterating that the elimination of sanctions is an indispensable aspect of any prospective nuclear deal.
