West Bengal actresses Jyotirmoyee Kundu and Sushmita Chatterjee are gearing up for their debut in Dhallywood this Eid-ul-Fitr. Jyotirmoyee recently discussed her role opposite Shakib Khan in the movie “Prince,” while Sushmita has revealed her excitement about working with Siam Ahmed in the upcoming action-romance film “Rakkhosh.”
In an interview, Sushmita praised her co-star Siam, describing him as “fantastic” to work with and emphasizing the strong on-screen chemistry between them. She mentioned that their off-screen bond has blossomed into a genuine friendship, with Siam providing tremendous support throughout the filming process, making her performance in front of the camera more comfortable. Sushmita expressed hope that audiences will appreciate their on-screen pairing.
Sushmita embarked on her journey to Bangladesh in December to commence shooting for “Rakkhosh.” Despite the unrest in the country following the tragic shooting of Inquilab Mancha spokesperson Osman Hadi, the actress felt secure and well-cared for by the film’s production team. She acknowledged the swift changes in circumstances in Bangladesh but personally did not encounter any intense situations. The filming was briefly halted for safety precautions, ensuring her well-being.
Adapting to the pronunciation disparities between Bangladeshi and West Bengal Bangla posed initial challenges for the actress, which she overcame with the assistance of the cast and crew. After completing the Bangladesh shoot, the team moved to Sri Lanka for nearly a month of filming. Only two song sequences remain to be captured before the production concludes.
Directed by Mehedi Hasan Hridoy, “Rakkhosh” is a captivating romantic story driven by action, scheduled for release during Eid-ul-Fitr. Sushmita expressed confidence in the film’s potential success, drawing comparisons to her previous Eid release “Chengiz” with Jeet. She highlighted the romantic undertones suggested by the poster featuring a rose on the hero’s lips and emphasized the depth of her character, finding the role immensely gratifying to portray.
In the aftermath of Bangladesh’s 13th National Parliamentary Election, Sushmita voiced her aspirations for enhanced cultural exchange between Bangladesh and India. Speaking to the Indian media outlet Anandabazar Patrika, she expressed her desire for increased collaboration and stronger ties between the two nations in the future.
