Model, actress, and lawyer Peya Jannatul has voiced her endorsement of the essence of the Liberation War and advocated for respect and parity post the 13th parliamentary election. Following the conclusion of the election, Peya took to Facebook to underscore the enduring significance of the principles of 1971, amidst public deliberations surrounding the election and campaign language.
In her social media post, Peya stressed the enduring relevance of 1971, asserting that the Liberation War and its ethos are pivotal. She emphasized that the spirit, sacrifices, and dignity that led to the establishment of independent Bangladesh must always be central to the nation’s collective conscience.
Furthermore, Peya expressed her unease regarding the language used concerning women throughout the campaign period. Addressing this issue, she highlighted the disconcerting nature of any derogatory or disrespectful references to women by political entities, emphasizing the impact of present discourse on future realities.
Emphasizing her stance, Peya clarified that her statements were not aligned with any specific political party but rather reflected her personal beliefs.
