-

Bangladeshi citizens showed up in large numbers to vote in the national election, with a significant presence of women at polling stations nationwide. Actress Azmeri Haque Badhan, known for her role in the July uprising, took to Facebook to express her joy and pride in the country’s democratic process.

Badhan shared a post congratulating Bangladesh on the successful elections, describing the night leading to a morning filled with relief and gratitude. In response to online critics who had mocked her, she posted a side-by-side photo of herself in a saree and a burkha, emphasizing that she has worn a burkha regularly since childhood and sees it as just another outfit for various practical purposes.

In her message, Badhan extended congratulations to all election participants, emphasizing that even those who did not win should see the experience as a victory. She called for unity and respect among all citizens, highlighting the importance of moving forward together for the betterment of the country.
