Jamaat-e-Islami leader Shafiqur Rahman emerged victorious in the 13th parliamentary election for the Dhaka-15 constituency, surpassing his opponent by a significant margin of 21,614 votes. The Election Commission officially declared the outcome. Shafiqur, running with the symbol of “scales” (daripalla), garnered 85,131 votes, outstripping BNP candidate Safiqul Islam Khan, who received 63,517 votes, in a closely watched contest.
