“Jamaat-e-Islami Attorney Congratulates BNP Rival on Election Lead”

Jamaat-e-Islami’s Mohammad Shishir Manir, a Supreme Court attorney and candidate in Sunamganj-2 constituency (Dirai and Shalla) during the 13th national election, extended congratulations to BNP candidate Nasir Chowdhury for his substantial lead. Shishir Monir expressed his felicitations to Nasir Uddin Chowdhury via a Facebook post on his verified page at approximately 8:30 pm.

According to Rudra Mizan, Nasir Chowdhury’s chief election representative, results from 88 out of 111 polling centers were available by 8:00 pm. Among these centers, Nasir Chowdhury secured 74,289 votes under the ‘sheaf of paddy’ symbol, surpassing his closest rival, Shishir Monir, who garnered 42,467 votes. Nasir Chowdhury is currently ahead by 31,820 votes in these 88 centers.

Shishir Monir, a former central secretary of Islami Chhatra Shibir, and Nasir Chowdhury, a member of the BNP’s central executive committee and a former Member of Parliament, are the key contenders in this constituency.
