In Netrokona, BNP-supported candidates are leading in four out of the five parliamentary constituencies. Only in one constituency, the Jamaat-e-Islami candidate with the “scales” symbol is currently ahead by a small margin. This data was gathered from the returning officer’s office at around 9:15 pm.
In Netrokona-1 (Kalmakanda–Durgapur), based on results from 77 polling centers out of 124, BNP’s Kaiser Kamal has secured 99,263 votes, while Golam Rabbani of the Khelafat Majlis under the 11-party alliance (symbol: rickshaw) has received 53,260 votes.
In Netrokona-2 (Sadar-Barhatta), results from 115 centers out of 173 show BNP candidate Md Anwarul Haque leading with 67,393 votes, while NCP candidate Fahim Rahman Khan Pathan of the 11-party alliance (symbol: waterlily bud) received 26,250 votes.
In Netrokona-3 (Kendua-Atpara), results from 71 out of 150 centers indicate that BNP’s Md Rafiqul Islam Hilali was in the lead with 54,667 votes, while independent candidate Md Delwar Hossain Bhuiyan, a rebel from BNP (symbol: horse), secured 31,954 votes.
In Netrokona-4 (Mohanganj-Madan-Khaliajuri), results from 115 centers out of 150 show BNP’s Lutfozzaman Babar receiving 121,825 votes, while Jamaat’s Md Al Helal (symbol: scales) garnered 31,453 votes.
In Netrokona-5 (Purbadhala), results from 75 centers out of 83 reveal that BNP’s Abu Taher Talukdar obtained 71,577 votes, while Jamaat’s Mashum Mostafa is slightly leading with 75,024 votes.
Regarding the referendum’s “yes” vote, data from 405 centers out of the total 676 centers show 360,600 “yes” votes and 225,454 “no” votes recorded so far.
