-

Bangladeshi music legend Mahfuz Anam James participated in the 13th national parliamentary election by casting his vote on Thursday at Baridhara Scholar School and College located in the Baridhara DOHS area of the capital city. The polling station is situated within the Dhaka-17 constituency.

James made his way to the polling center around 3:30pm, where he was greeted by enthusiastic fans who requested to take selfies with him. He engaged briefly with voters, law enforcement personnel, and election officials present at the site.

In an interview with Prothom Alo following his vote, James emphasized the importance of a robust democratic process in defining a nation. He expressed his wish for the continuation of this process regardless of the outcome of the election, advocating for peace and prosperity for the people of the country.

Reflecting on his voting experience, James remarked, “The voting process was seamless and well-organized. I received my ballot slip, cast my vote, and encountered no issues.”

Post-voting, James took the initiative to urge his bandmates to also fulfill their civic duty by voting and reached out to ensure that they had exercised their right to participate in the election.
