“11-party Coalition Alleges Voting Irregularities Across Multiple Constituencies”

-

The 11-party coalition has lodged complaints with the Election Commission, accusing extensive irregularities at multiple polling stations in various constituencies such as Cumilla-8, Shariatpur-2, and Patuakhali-1. They have urged the immediate halt of voting at the affected sites. The coalition representatives held a meeting with Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin at the Nirbachan Bhaban and submitted a formal complaint along with over a hundred video recordings as proof. After the meeting, Moazzem Hossain Helal, Assistant Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami, briefed the media, though he did not provide specific details on the number of affected polling stations. In Cumilla-8 constituency alone, the coalition’s party agents were reportedly removed from 30 polling stations, as mentioned by the Jamaat leader. Despite informing the returning officer, no action was allegedly taken. The Jamaat leader also claimed incidents of “violent clashes” in Noakhali-6 since the previous night. Additionally, challenges were reported in Jhalakathi and Shariatpur, where party agents were allegedly forced out of polling stations.
