“Tragic Shooting Leaves 11 Dead in Northeast BC Town”

Ten individuals, including an alleged gunman, were discovered deceased following a shooting incident in a town in northeastern British Columbia on Tuesday, as per Canadian law enforcement. Among the casualties, six were found inside a high school in Tumbler Ridge, while two others were located at a residence linked to the event. Additionally, one person passed away en route to the hospital, confirmed the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

The suspected shooter was also found dead, believed to have succumbed to a self-inflicted injury, with authorities asserting no further suspects or imminent threats to public safety. Situated in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in northern British Columbia, Tumbler Ridge is a secluded municipality with a population of approximately 2,400 residents, positioned around 1,155 km (717 miles) northeast of Vancouver.

Police reported that an additional 25 individuals were undergoing evaluations for injuries at a nearby medical facility. British Columbia’s Public Safety Minister, Nina Krieger, expressed solidarity with the community of Tumbler Ridge, stating that she had conferred with the mayor and local MLA, and reiterated the provincial government’s readiness to provide any necessary support to the RCMP.
