An explosion during Friday prayers at a mosque within a school complex in Jakarta, Indonesia’s capital, resulted in numerous injuries and hospitalizations, according to local police. City police chief Asep Edi Suheri mentioned during a televised briefing that authorities were looking into the cause of the explosion at the incident location in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta. The total number of individuals taken to hospitals reached 54, with injuries varying from minor to severe, including burns. Both KompasTV and MetroTV broadcasted scenes of a police cordon surrounding the school premises, alongside ambulances on standby. Visuals of the mosque displayed minimal structural damage.
