Bangladesh U-19 Women’s Cricket Team Beats Pakistan 2-1

-

Bangladesh’s under-19 women’s cricket team secured a 2-1 lead over Pakistan by clinching a seven-wicket victory in the third T20 match of the five-game series at Cox’s Bazar Academy Ground on Sunday. The young players, led by standout performances from pacer Habiba Islam Pinky and left-arm spinner Otoshi Mojumder, limited Pakistan to 86 for 8. The Tigresses also executed two run-outs during Pakistan’s innings.

Facing an early challenge, the Tigresses lost two wickets for just 8 runs, as openers Aritry Nirjona and Sumaiya Akter were dismissed cheaply. Skipper Sadiya Islam turned the game around with a quick-fire 35 off 28 balls, featuring three boundaries and three sixes. Despite Sadiya’s departure in the 10th over, Jannat Emanta’s brisk 30 off 25 balls sealed the win for Bangladesh.

Pakistan’s innings saw a promising start with skipper Eman Naseer’s brisk 23 off 16 balls. However, Bangladesh took control of the match after Otoshi dismissed Eman. Pakistan struggled at 58 for 7 by the 15th over before Memoona Khalid (18) and Mahnoor Zeb (12) made late contributions to push the visitors to a total of 86 runs.

The next game in the series is scheduled for Wednesday, December 10.
