Cricketer Anamul Haque Pursues Legal Action Against BPL

-

Anamul Haque Bijoy has affirmed his determination to pursue legal action against the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) governing council for his exclusion from the BPL auction list, along with eight other players. The cricketer was spotted at the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) premises where he personally delivered a legal notice to the BCB on Monday. The notice, directed to the BCB president and BPL member secretary, argued that his removal from the list of local players was done without justification and in a discriminatory manner.

“I have sent a formal legal notice to the BCB, addressed to the President of the BPL Governing Council and to the Advisor. I visited today to hand it in personally. The BCB has acknowledged receipt, and I have also shared all details with you individually via WhatsApp,” Bijoy informed journalists.

“If anyone wishes to communicate, they can do so through my legal representative. I anticipate a press conference to be held by him tomorrow. Following that, I will provide further updates. I am prepared to escalate this issue to the highest authorities, InshaAllah,” he emphasized.

Bijoy and the other players were omitted from the list following scrutiny by the BCB’s integrity unit. Recently, the High Court dismissed three writ petitions challenging the exclusion of nine players, including Bijoy.
