“Jamaat-e-Islami Leader Advocates Justice and Gratitude”

-

Jamaat-e-Islami leader Shafiqur Rahman emphasized that his party upholds principles of justice and fairness instead of engaging in retaliatory politics. Speaking at an election gathering in Sylhet, he highlighted the party’s commitment to gratitude and non-revenge despite facing challenges like registration cancellation and a subsequent ban.

Rahman reiterated the party’s stance of not seeking retribution against oppressors, emphasizing a focus on addressing injustice throughout the nation if Jamaat-e-Islami assumes power. He expressed confidence in the potential to transform the country by eradicating corruption and extortion at the core within a five-year timeframe.

Asserting a vision of ensuring a dignified life for all citizens, Rahman questioned the adequacy of current government officials’ remuneration and benefits. He underscored the need to provide essential opportunities for individuals to live with respect, rather than pushing them to resort to unlawful means to meet basic needs.

Drawing attention to environmental issues, Rahman lamented the degradation of rivers, particularly in Sylhet, due to encroachment and pollution. He emphasized the importance of preserving water bodies like the Surma and Kushiyara for a sustainable future, calling for concrete actions to safeguard these vital resources.

Addressing agricultural concerns, Rahman highlighted the significance of Sunamganj’s haor areas in the country’s food supply and decried the neglect and mismanagement leading to embankment failures and crop losses. He vowed to prevent embezzlement of funds meant for embankment maintenance, ensuring the protection of crucial agricultural lands.

Rahman also shed light on the plight of tea garden laborers, underscoring their hardships and lack of access to education and healthcare. He emphasized the government’s duty to safeguard the rights and well-being of these marginalized workers, urging accountability and support for their welfare.
