An Ansar member passed away in Rangamati while on duty as part of the striking force for the 13th Parliamentary Election. The individual, identified as Mohammad Ershad Ali, 57 years old, served as a subedar at the Shublong Ansar Battalion, according to Bikash Chandra Das, the Rangamati District Commandant (additional charge).

Ershad was dispatched from the battalion headquarters to Juraichhari upazila as a section commander for election duty. The unfortunate incident took place yesterday afternoon shortly after his arrival in Juraichhari from the Shublong Ansar Battalion to fulfill his assigned tasks, Bikash explained.

“He suddenly collapsed while conversing with his colleagues upon reaching there. He was rushed to Juraichhari Upazila Health Complex, where the attending doctor pronounced him dead after an examination,” he further stated.

Mohammad Mosleh Uddin Faruk, the Ansar and VDP Officer of Juraichhari upazila, mentioned that Ershad was suspected to have experienced a stroke.
