“Tetulia in Panchagarh Records Lowest Temperature for Ninth Day”

-

A mild cold wave persists in Panchagarh and Thakurgaon, with Tetulia in Panchagarh registering the lowest temperature in the country for the ninth consecutive day at nine degrees celsius as of 9:00am today. The wind speeds were between ten and 12 kilometres per hour, with humidity at 90 percent, as reported by Jitendranath Ray, the acting officer at the Tetulia Weather Observatory. Tetulia has consistently recorded the country’s lowest temperatures between 6.8 degrees celsius and 9 degrees celsius since January 9.

Temperatures in the region this morning were 9.6 degrees celsius in Thakurgaon, 11 degrees celsius in Nilphamari’s Dimla, 10.4 degrees celsius in Dinajpur, 12.5 degrees celsius in Rangpur, and 10.5 degrees celsius in Kurigram’s Rajarhat. Despite the cold weather, the bright sunshine in the past two mornings has allowed people to engage in outdoor activities.

Meteorological experts attribute the cold weather in northern districts like Panchagarh and Thakurgaon to icy winds from the Himalayan region and clear skies. This weather pattern is expected to persist over the coming days. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department categorizes temperatures between 8 and 10 degrees celsius as a mild cold wave, 6 to 8 degrees celsius as a moderate cold wave, and below 6 degrees celsius as a severe cold wave.
