A fresh seven-episode series named “Dadir Bhaag” has been developed, focusing on the life challenges of a grandmother portrayed by the esteemed Dilara Zaman. The cast includes Jamil Hossain, Munmun Ahmed Mun, Naresh Bhuiyan, Reshma Ahmed, Mom Shiuli, Amin Azad, Suchana, and others. The script, penned by Bidyut Roy inspired by Jamil Hossain, is brought to life by director Mahfuz Islam and is set to debut on the Jamil’s Zoo YouTube channel.

The main characters in the series are played by the real-life couple Jamil Hossain and Munmun Ahmed Mun, who recently got married. The duo first crossed paths while collaborating on various TV dramas, where their on-screen chemistry blossomed into a real-world relationship.

Munmun, with her roots in Dhaka, kickstarted her career as a model and gained acclaim for her authentic portrayals in TV dramas. After earning her BBA from Eastern University, she pursued further studies in Malaysia. Acting alongside Dilara Zaman in “Dadir Bhaag” was like a dream come true for the young actress, who has long admired the veteran’s poise and talent.

Expressing her thoughts on the collaboration, Munmun remarked, “Dilara Zaman is a gem of Bangladeshi cinema and television. Her elegance and kindness remain timeless. Acting alongside her was a lifelong aspiration, and I am deeply privileged to portray her granddaughter. Her warm and humble demeanor towards everyone is truly inspiring. Working with her has been a profoundly fulfilling experience for me.”

Reflecting on the series, Dilara Zaman said, “The narrative of ‘Dadir Bhaag’ is profoundly moving, focusing on a grandfather who bequeaths his entire estate to his wife, and the ensuing family dynamics. The project was a joy to be a part of — the set was filled with caring and respectful individuals. Munmun is not only sweet but also incredibly talented; I wish her continued success in her acting career and the realization of all her dreams.”

Dilara Zaman is currently active in the ongoing Deepto TV drama “Bokulpur,” while Munmun has recently returned to the screens in “Bidesh Ferot,” helmed by director Sagar Jahan and broadcasted on RTV.
