“Choudhury Optimistic for Bangladesh’s Victory in Asian Cup Qualifier”

-

Leicester City’s midfielder, Hamza Choudhury, is optimistic about Bangladesh’s chances of securing a victory against Hong Kong, China in their upcoming Asian Cup Qualifier on October 9. Choudhury, who recently arrived in Dhaka with his family, is gearing up for his third appearance with the Bangladeshi team after previously playing against India and Singapore. Collaborating closely with coach Javier Cabrera, the 28-year-old has been focusing on defensive organization and swift transitions in attack as part of their preparation.

Speaking after a rigorous training session at the National Stadium, Choudhury mentioned that the coach had sought his input on contributing to the team’s success based on his experience. Stressing the importance of adapting to different opponents and game strategies, he emphasized the need for a unique approach against Hong Kong. Reflecting on their recent 2-1 loss to Singapore, Choudhury acknowledged the team’s disappointment over conceding preventable goals and missing crucial scoring opportunities, including a potential penalty. Despite the setbacks, he expressed determination to bounce back and capitalize on future chances.

Maintaining a positive outlook, Choudhury highlighted the team’s work ethic, talent, and aggression, underscoring the significance of unity and self-belief, especially on a national level. Dismissing comparisons to football icon Lionel Messi, he emphasized the collective effort required for success, stating that no individual, including himself, holds the key to victory in football.
