The International Crimes Tribunal has granted permission for the display of evidence related to several crimes against humanity cases associated with the July 2024 uprising at the July Uprising Memorial Museum for a period of one month. The museum is set to open on January 20. This decision was made today by the tribunal’s Chairman, Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder, in response to a request from the prosecution.
During a press briefing at the ICT’s premises, prosecutor Gazi Monawar Hossain Tamim mentioned that the museum is located at the former residence of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, commonly known as Gono Bhaban. The premises were transformed into the July Uprising Memorial Museum after August 5, 2024. As per the prosecution’s request, the tribunal has authorized a temporary exhibition of the materials for public viewing, allowing people to observe the evidence firsthand.
