A fire that occurred at Bangladesh Medical University (BMU) in Dhaka this morning has been successfully contained within approximately 15 minutes. The fire started in Block A at around 11:15 am, as reported by Rashed Bin Khalid, the duty officer at the Fire Service and Civil Defence control room. Upon receiving the alert, seven fire engines swiftly responded to the scene and managed to extinguish the fire by approximately 11:30 am. The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time. Fortunately, there have been no casualties reported. BMU Deputy Director Abu Naser confirmed that the affected block does not house any wards or cabins.
