Singer-actor Tahsan has been the subject of much discussion recently after revealing his decision to step back from the music scene. Various speculations have emerged, with some suggesting his departure is linked to religious beliefs, and others connecting it to a specific political affiliation. Tahsan has now clarified his stance on these rumors.
During a recent event in the capital, Tahsan addressed the swirling rumors, stating, “When I mentioned my intention to take a break from music at my Melbourne concert, there were only a few people in attendance. I never anticipated that it would generate such widespread attention. Similar to my gradual withdrawal from acting, I plan to ease out of music gradually as well. I am a sentimental and poetic individual, and my statement was spontaneous. It led to numerous assumptions and even fabricated images of me wearing a cap, insinuating a political connection—as if I had entered politics!”
Tahsan believes that such incidents are driven by a desire for online virality. “It appears to be part of the current trend. Many individuals are seeking virality, a phenomenon observed globally. Therefore, one must exercise caution when speaking publicly. A seemingly innocuous comment can quickly escalate beyond control,” he expressed.
Regarding his decision to take a hiatus from music, Tahsan elaborated, “This is not a novel occurrence for me. I have taken breaks at various points in my career. After departing from the band Black to pursue a solo career, I refrained from live performances for a few years. Similarly, when I pursued my master’s degree in the United States, I refrained from releasing music or performing for a two-year period. Now, I am embarking on another pause. Over the span of 25 years, I have received more love and support than I ever imagined. To avoid monotony, I am choosing to pivot. I have provided additional explanations elsewhere, which are equally valid. There is a personal reason as well, which I prefer not to disclose publicly. Everyone encounters moments in life that are profoundly personal and surreal, to the extent that even they struggle to comprehend. I aim to avoid turning such matters into national controversies.”
Tahsan expressed his current focus on academic pursuits, stating, “Life progresses in chapters. Initially, one feels a lack of understanding. In subsequent chapters, one may believe they have grasped everything. I found myself in that phase. Recently, I have come to realize that my knowledge of life and the world is limited. There is much more to learn.”
