“Arson Attack at Grameen Bank Office in Magura”

Miscreants ignited a fire at the Grameen Bank office in Mohammpadpur upazila of Magura in the early hours of the day. The incident took place at approximately 3:30 am at the branch neighboring Aminur Rahman Degree College in the upazila.

According to the Branch Manager, Sohana Sultana, individuals poured petrol through the office window and set the premises ablaze around 3:30 am. As a result, several crucial official documents and office furniture were consumed by the fire. The authorities have been notified about the situation.

Billal Mridha, the station master of Mohammadpur Fire Service and Civil Defence, mentioned that upon receiving the alert, firefighters promptly responded to the scene and successfully extinguished the fire.

Abdur Rahman, the officer-in-charge (OC) of Mohammadpur Police Station, confirmed that law enforcement officers were dispatched to the location without delay. However, the full extent of the damage is yet to be determined. He further stated that an investigation will be launched to evaluate the losses incurred.
