“Legends Live in Dhaka”: Ali Azmat and James to Rock Joint Performance

-

Two prominent rock musicians from South Asia, Ali Azmat and James, are gearing up for their debut joint performance in Dhaka. The event, named “Legends Live in Dhaka,” is scheduled for November 14 at the United Convention Centre, uniting fans from various regions.

ASSEN Communications is orchestrating the concert, featuring Ali Azmat, the renowned Pakistani Sufi-rock artist and former lead vocalist of Junoon, alongside Bangladesh’s iconic James, also known as Nagarbaul. The show aims to honor the shared musical legacy of the two nations and showcase the enduring charm of their distinct rock genres.

Mukesh Goala, Senior Strategic Planner at ASSEN Communications, expressed delight at the overwhelming response from the audience. He remarked, “The enthusiasm displayed by fans is truly motivating. Ticket sales have surpassed our expectations, and we anticipate this event will go down in history as a pivotal moment in Dhaka’s live music scene.”

The organizers assured that meticulous arrangements have been made to guarantee a seamless experience for attendees. Stringent measures have been implemented to elevate security, sound quality, and lighting systems to international standards, underscoring the grandeur of the occasion.

James remains a prominent musical figure in Bangladesh, celebrated for timeless tracks like “Guru Ghor Banaila Ki Diya,” “Pagla Hawa,” “Kobita,” “Asbar Kale Aslam Eka,” “Dushto Cheler Dol,” and “Bijli Chole Jeyona.” His performances continue to captivate audiences across generations, blending rock, blues, and folk elements that have shaped the nation’s contemporary music landscape.

Ali Azmat, known as the “voice of Junoon,” led the pioneering Pakistani rock band from 1991 to 2005. His commanding vocals and socially conscious lyrics were instrumental in shaping the band’s identity and influencing a generation of musicians in South Asia. Post his Junoon tenure, Azmat founded Social Circus in 2006, venturing into diverse musical realms.

This occasion marks Azmat’s third visit to Bangladesh, following his appearances at the Dhaka International Folk Fest in 2019. His comeback has sparked significant anticipation among enthusiasts of both Junoon and the broader Sufi-rock genre.

The concert is scheduled to run from 6 pm to 11 pm, with gates opening at 5 pm. Tickets are accessible in various categories via the Get Set Rock website and authorized vendors. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to facilitate smooth entry and maximize their concert experience.
