The student organizations Islami Chhatra Shibir and Jatiya Chhatra Shakti have revealed their respective candidate panels for the upcoming Jagannath University Central Students’ Union (Jnucsu) election.

Islami Chhatra Shibir’s university unit introduced their panel, “Adommo Jobian Oikya,” during a press conference outside the Language Martyr Rafiq Bhaban yesterday. The panel includes Md Riazul Islam as the vice president nominee and Abdul Alim Arif as the general secretary nominee, both from JnU Chhatra Shibir. Masud Rana, an organizer of Up Bangladesh at JnU, has been nominated for the assistant general secretary position.

On the other hand, Jatiya Chhatra Shakti, previously known as Bangladesh Gonotantrik Chhatra Sangsad, disclosed their 20-member panel, “Oikkoboddho Jobian,” yesterday. The panel, presented by the organization’s central president Zahid Hasan, features Kishore Anjum Sammo as the VP nominee and Md Faisal Murad as the GS nominee, with Shahin Mia contesting for the AGS position from the JnU unit of Chhatra Shakti.

A total of 312 students obtained nomination forms for the central and hall union elections, with 249 candidates submitting their nominations on the final submission day. Nomination form scrutiny is scheduled for November 19 and 20. The final list of candidates, after addressing objections, settlements, and dope tests on November 27 and 30, will be published on December 3. The election is set for December 22.
