Wetherspoon cutting price of beer to just 99p from today in hundreds of pubs

-

Wetherspoon is slashing the price of some pints of beer to 99p as part of its January sale.

The pub chain is cutting prices in 770 Wetherspoon pubs from today until Thursday, January 16. If you’re in Scotland, the January sale starts from tomorrow. Prices do vary slightly, depending on your location, but the majority of pubs will be serving beer for between 99p and £1.49.

The average sale prices across the pubs include a pint of Worthington’s at 99p, a pint of Ruddles or Greene King at £1.29, a pint of Belhaven at £1.49 and a pint of Doom Bar at £1.49. More than 650 of the pubs will be offering a glass of Coldwater Creek wine (250ml) for £2.49 and almost all of the pubs will be serving low and alcohol-free drinks for £1.49.

Here are some of the drinks featured in the sale:

In addition, 660 of the pubs will serve Lavazza coffee, tea and hot chocolate, including refills, for £1.29. There will also be three breakfast offers running for £2.99, including a fried egg, sausage, bacon and cheese muffin, a sausage or bacon butty, or any breakfast wrap, including one with fried egg, bacon, sausage, hash brown and cheese.

All breakfast offers include free refills of coffee, tea or hot chocolate, or a soft drink. For mains, there are three burger meal deals, which include chips and a drink. Punters can choose from a 3oz American burger, 3oz classic beef burger or Crunchy chicken strip burger.

The average price across the pubs is £6.52 with an alcoholic drink, and £4.99 with a non-alcoholic drink. Wetherspoon has also cut the price of its hotels in January 2025, with rooms available for between £49 and £69, depending on location (except Saturdays).

Wetherspoon founder and chairman Tim Martin said: “Department stores and shops hold their sales in January, so it is the perfect time to have a sale in the pubs too. The range of drinks and food on sale in the pubs is aimed at suiting a wide variety of tastes. This year we have included our biggest selection of low and non-alcoholic drinks. I believe that the January Sale will prove popular with our customers. As always, staff at the pubs will serve customers responsibly.”
