Grameenphone has recently rolled out Wi-Fi Calling, introducing Voice over Wi-Fi (VoWiFi) technology to its mobile network. As per an official statement, this service permits Grameenphone users with Voice over LTE-enabled connections to engage in calls over compatible Wi-Fi networks using suitable smartphones. The primary aim of this feature is to enhance the quality and stability of voice calls, especially in regions with limited mobile network coverage.

In order to activate this service, Grameenphone is collaborating with various internet service providers such as BracNet, Carnival Internet, Chittagong Online Limited, and MiME-Internet. The press release clarifies that calls made through Wi-Fi Calling do not necessitate any additional applications and can be managed via the phone’s standard calling interface.
