Garment Worker Killed in Gazipur Road Accident

A tragic incident occurred this evening on the Tongi-Kaliganj road in Gazipur, resulting in the death of a 20-year-old garment worker named Nargis Akhter. Nargis, who worked at APS Knit Composite Limited in the Kamargaon area, was struck by a CNG-operated auto-rickshaw around 7:00pm while on her way home.

According to witnesses, the auto-rickshaw was traveling from Kaliganj to Tongi when the collision occurred. Molla Mohammad Khalid Hossain, the officer-in-charge of Pubail Police Station, confirmed the unfortunate event, stating that Nargis succumbed to her injuries while being transported to Tongi Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master Hospital.

The authorities have seized the auto-rickshaw involved in the accident, although the driver managed to escape the scene. Legal proceedings are currently in progress to address the situation.
