Superstar Shah Rukh Khan is all set to make a grand comeback as the host of the prestigious Filmfare Awards in 2025, a role he last held back in 2008. The event organizers announced on Tuesday that he will be sharing hosting duties with Maniesh Paul and Karan Johar for the much-anticipated ceremony.
The news of Shah Rukh Khan’s return as a co-host for the 70th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2025 in collaboration with Gujarat Tourism was revealed by Filmfare through their official Instagram page. The event is scheduled to take place on October 11 at Eka Arena in Ahmedabad.
Having hosted the Filmfare Awards on several occasions in the past, Shah Rukh Khan is known for his remarkable hosting skills. Notably, he shared the stage with Saif Ali Khan in 2003 and 2004, followed by a collaboration with Karan Johar in 2007. In 2008, he co-hosted the 53rd edition alongside Saif, Karan, and Vidya Balan, marking his last extensive hosting stint at the ceremony.
Shah Rukh Khan is recognized for infusing his trademark humor and wit into his hosting, captivating audiences with his banter, especially with Saif. Despite making guest appearances as a host on a few occasions since then, his fans eagerly await his return to the spotlight.
The 70th edition of the Filmfare Awards is scheduled to be held on October 11 at EKA Arena near Kankaria Lake in Ahmedabad, marking the first time the prestigious event will grace Gujarat. This decision follows an MoU signed between the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited (TCGL) and Worldwide Media Private Limited in Gandhinagar, in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.
Last month, the nominations for the upcoming awards were announced, with Kiran Rao’s “Laapataa Ladies” leading the pack with an impressive 24 nominations, while the action-packed film “Kill” secured a total of 15 nods.
