Rab authorities have apprehended six individuals suspected of being involved in the murder of Sarwar Hossain Babla and other criminal activities in Chattogram. The arrested suspects are Ishtiaque Chowdhury, also known as Ovi, Mohammad Joni, Mahmudul Hoque Zaki, Mohammad Arman Ali, Mohammad Alauddin, and Mohammad Helal. Alauddin and Helal are specifically accused of fatally shooting Sarwar and injuring Ershad Ullah, the BNP’s nominee for Chattogram-8, during an election campaign in the Bayezid Bostami area. Charges have been filed against Ishtiaque and Joni for allegedly opening fire on five BNP activists, and Arman is accused of shooting auto-rickshaw driver Mohammad Idris. According to Mozaffar Hossain, senior assistant director of Rab-7, the suspects were apprehended overnight from various locations and are connected to the murder of Sarwar Hossain Babla, the shooting of the auto-rickshaw driver, and criminal activities in Raozan. The arrested individuals are currently undergoing interrogation. Abdul Kader, Sarwar’s father, has filed a case with Bayezid Bostami Police Station against eight individuals, including Sazzad Ali, and several others, as informed by Maruf Hossain, assistant commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police.
