Six individuals lost their lives in a tragic incident at a government hospital in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, following a fire outbreak in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) during the late hours of last night. The fire originated on the second floor of the trauma center facility where 11 patients were under care, leading to the untimely demise of six patients, comprising two women and four men, confirmed Dr. Anurag Dhakad, the trauma center’s in-charge. The primary cause of the fire was determined to be a short circuit according to Dr. Dhakad’s assessment.
Outside the trauma ward, families of the deceased expressed their sorrow and raised concerns about alleged negligence on the part of hospital staff. Rajasthan’s Minister of State for Home, Jawahar Singh Bedham, who paid a visit to the hospital following the incident, remarked, “It appears that the fire resulted from a short circuit in the ICU.”
