The inaugural meeting of the Cricketers Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB) took place on Saturday, where the newly appointed committees of the players’ organization were announced.
Headed by CWAB President Mohammad Mithun, the meeting saw the presence of Senior Vice-President Shahriar Hossain Biddut and Vice-President Nurul Hasan Sohan. The organization had conducted its elections on September 4, resulting in Mithun being elected as the president of the players’ association.
Notable cricketers such as Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mehidy Hasan Miraz were assigned responsibilities in the new committees. Shanto was placed in the Current Men’s Players Committee, while Miraz assumed the role in the Fund Mobilization Committee.
In addition to Shanto and Miraz, other members of the executive committee, including Shamsur Rahman, Rumana Ahmed, Imrul Kayes, Irfan Sukkur, and Akbar Ali, were also present at the meeting.
In a statement released by CWAB, Mithun emphasized the importance of earning the trust of all male and female cricketers in Bangladesh. He highlighted that the well-being of cricketers remains their foremost concern, and they are committed to dedicating time to assist players and ensure the smooth operation of CWAB.
Corporate figure Shehzad Munim and journalist Mohammad Isam were appointed as advisers to the committee.

– Administration: Shamsur Rahman Shuvo
– Finance Committee: Irfan Shukkur
– Current Men’s Players Committee: Akbar Ali and Najmul Hossain Shanto
– Current Women’s Players Committee: Rumana Ahmed
– Fund Mobilization Committee: Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Imrul Kayes
– Media and Communications Committee: Nurul Hasan Sohan
– Event Committee: Mohammad Mithun and Mominul Haque
