Fifty-seven individuals have obtained nomination forms from the National Citizen Party since the commencement of the form sale process. The party has generated Tk 5.7 lakh in revenue from the sale of these forms, as confirmed by Saifullah Haidar, a member of the NCP’s central election management committee, in an interview with The Daily Star today.
Between 6:00 pm on Thursday and 7:00 pm on Friday, a total of 57 nomination forms were sold, with 47 being purchased online and 10 obtained offline through in-person transactions. Notably, Shawkat Ali from Narayanganj-5 and Md Ataullah from Brahmanbaria-3, serving as the central organizer and joint chief organizer of the NCP respectively, have already procured their nomination forms from the central committee.
Moreover, various leaders from district-level committees, both within and outside the central committee, have also acquired nomination forms. Aspiring candidates from constituencies such as Dhaka-18, Dhaka-14, Faridpur-4, Kishoreganj-2, Kurigram-3 and 4, Rajbari-2, Jhalakathi-1, and Cox’s Bazar-2 have shown interest by collecting nomination forms.
Saifullah expressed optimism about an anticipated rise in the number of form collections in the coming days. Additionally, he mentioned that more central-level leaders are expected to obtain nomination forms in the near future.
