US President Donald Trump expressed confidence on Monday in the possibility of a Gaza peace agreement, citing Hamas’ willingness to address crucial issues during talks with Israel. Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump emphasized that certain conditions must be met for the agreement to proceed but noted that progress was being made with Hamas agreeing to significant terms.
Trump conveyed his optimism regarding the ongoing discussions between Hamas and Israel in Egypt under his comprehensive 20-point plan to end the conflict. Despite acknowledging the historical challenges, Trump remained hopeful about reaching a deal, stating, “We’re going to have a Gaza deal, I’m pretty sure, yeah.”
Addressing a report suggesting tension with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump clarified that Netanyahu had shown strong support for the negotiations, contrary to the allegations.
