Small-screen star Tanjin Tisha is set to make her big-screen debut alongside superstar Shakib Khan in director Shakeeb Fahad’s upcoming film “Soldier.” Also joining the cast is Jannatul Ferdous Oishee, and filming has already commenced in Dhaka.
Speculation had been rife for weeks about Tisha’s transition to the silver screen, but both the actress and the production team had remained tight-lipped. Director Shakeeb Fahad has now officially announced the cast and mentioned that a first-look poster featuring the two actresses will be unveiled soon.
Fahad, speaking from the film set, stated, “The selection of actors was based on the storyline. Tanjin Tisha will be seen opposite Shakib Khan in her debut film, which is an exciting moment for all of us. There has been widespread anticipation to see Tisha in a feature film. Jannatul Ferdous Oishee is also part of the cast, and I am confident that the audience will be pleased.”
“Soldier,” produced by Sun Music and Motion Pictures Limited, also features Tarik Anam Khan and Tauquir Ahmed in pivotal roles. The film is slated to hit theaters later this year if all goes as planned.
Rumors about Tanjin Tisha’s entry into the cinema world have circulated for some time. A couple of years ago, there were talks about her starring opposite Shakib Khan, but the project did not materialize. This time, it is finally coming to fruition.
Earlier this year, there were reports in Indian media about Tisha’s involvement in a Tollywood project titled “Bhalobashar Morshum” alongside Bollywood actor Sharman Joshi. However, visa issues reportedly caused production delays, leading the actress to prioritize her local venture, “Soldier.”
Discussing the conflicting shooting schedules of both films, Tisha clarified, “I wanted my debut to be in a Bangladeshi film. I could not pass up the opportunity to work with a top-tier artist like Shakib Khan.”
Previously, Tisha was linked to star opposite Shakib in Raihan Rafi’s film “Premik,” a project that never materialized. With “Soldier,” the much-anticipated collaboration is finally coming to fruition.
Meanwhile, Oishee was last seen in Abu Tauhid Heron’s 2023 film “Adam,” where she starred alongside Yash Rohan. She was also associated with Asif Islam’s “Jatri,” although progress on that project remains pending.
Filming for “Soldier” kicked off on October 5, with Tisha joining the production. Her initial scenes with Shakib Khan are scheduled for October 11. Director Fahad described the film as a patriotic narrative of bravery and optimism.
“In the end, our film embodies a message of hope,” Fahad expressed. “Regardless of the challenges, we uphold optimism — that’s the essence of ‘Soldier.'”
