At least eighteen individuals lost their lives in Bilaspur district, Himachal Pradesh, India, as a passenger bus was struck by boulders during landslides caused by heavy rainfall on the previous day. According to PTI, officials have confirmed the recovery of 18 bodies from the bus wreckage in Balughat area of Jhanduta subdivision in Bilaspur. The bus, with an estimated 30-35 passengers on board, was en route from Rohtak, Haryana. The tragic incident occurred around 6:30 pm when the landslide hit the bus. A police official involved in the rescue efforts mentioned the minimal chances of survival, stating that the entire mountain collapsed onto the bus. Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, expressed sorrow and directed officials to accelerate the rescue operations.
