“Renowned Artist Pantha Kanai Releases Poignant Single”

-

Renowned artist Pantha Kanai has made a poignant return with his latest single, “Sei Ek Shomoy Chhilo,” which resonates with the challenges faced during the global lockdown amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The track, penned by Shahid Mahmud Jangi and composed by Pilu Khan, is now available on Ajab Records’ official YouTube channel.

Sharing his thoughts on the collaboration, Pantha expressed his gratitude, calling it a dream realized. “Both Shahid Mahmud Jangi and Pilu Khan are stalwarts in Bangladesh’s music industry. Their contributions to our cultural heritage over the years have been immense,” he remarked. “To have the opportunity to interpret Jangi’s lyrics and Pilu bhai’s composition is a significant milestone for me.”

Pantha, who regards Pilu Khan as his mentor, reminisced about how the musician influenced his musical journey, particularly in drumming. “During my youth, I played the tabla. I vividly remember a concert at Chittagong Medical College where Renaissance was performing, and Pilu bhai was on the drums. That moment sparked my aspiration to become a drummer,” he recalled. “Now, being able to lend my voice to an original composition by him marks a pivotal moment in my career.”

Reflecting on the emotional depth of the song, Pantha emphasized its significance in capturing the essence of the challenging period of global isolation. “While the world has moved forward, it is crucial not to forget the hardships we endured during that time. This song serves as a poignant reminder of the fear, introspection, and hope that defined those days,” he explained. “For me, it holds an indelible place, and I intend to feature it in my upcoming concert performances.”
