“Genocide by Starvation: Israeli Onslaught on Gaza Exposed”

-

In April of last year, an article titled “Forgive Me, Gaza” was penned as a personal expression of sorrow and helplessness. Today, personal reflection gives way to a stark reality: an Israeli onslaught characterized by widespread starvation, devastation, and bloodshed, fueled by global apathy.

Contrary to claims of natural hunger, Gaza is enduring a deliberate policy of starvation orchestrated with American support. The ongoing genocide in Gaza is not a byproduct of conflict but a premeditated scheme openly endorsed by Israeli leaders, from top officials to ordinary citizens.

This malevolent intent is not an extremist view but rather a prevailing ideology, with a staggering 82 percent of Jewish Israelis advocating for the ethnic cleansing of Gaza, some even endorsing the mass targeting of civilians. This chilling truth exposes the dark underbelly of Israeli society, propped up by Western powers seeking redemption for historical crimes against Jews through a colonial Zionist project in the heart of the Middle East.

The ruthless culture that sanctions the starvation of millions is exemplified by high-ranking Israeli figures. Former President Isaac Herzog obliterated the distinction between civilians and combatants, laying blame on an entire population. Defense Ministers Yoav Gallant and Israel Katz echoed this sentiment, vowing to enforce a total blockade on Gaza, depriving its inhabitants of basic necessities.

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich brazenly justified mass starvation as a morally acceptable tactic, openly advocating for ethnic cleansing and the destruction of Gaza. These appalling statements shed light on the genocidal mindset pervasive in Israel’s leadership and populace.

These abhorrent beliefs are not isolated incidents but ingrained in the fabric of Israeli society, driving policies that perpetuate racism and violence. Senior figures like Benjamin Netanyahu use religion to justify the starvation and slaughter of Palestinians, invoking twisted interpretations of Jewish law to dehumanize and target innocent lives.

The complicity of external actors is essential for Israel to enforce such cruel policies. The Egyptian regime turns a blind eye to Israeli violations, while the US funds deceptive humanitarian initiatives that serve as a smokescreen for continued starvation in Gaza. Western powers like the US and European nations offer empty condemnations while arming Israel, enabling the ongoing genocide.

Amidst failed negotiations to end the crisis, the US and Europe continue to prioritize political interests over humanitarian concerns, allowing Israel to weaponize starvation as a bargaining chip. Meanwhile, Arab nations stand by silently as Gaza faces catastrophe, complicit in their inaction.

Efforts like food aid airdrops, while seemingly noble, are woefully inadequate in addressing the scale of suffering in Gaza. Such gestures, including limited humanitarian initiatives, serve as distractions from the root cause of starvation – a calculated strategy to maintain control and leverage political support.

The current easing of starvation is likely a tactical move by Netanyahu to secure future backing for military operations, further exploiting the vulnerable population of Gaza. The international community must recognize access to food as a basic human right, not a bargaining chip for political gain.

As the world watches in silence, Gaza’s children continue to suffer, deprived of their most fundamental needs. The legacy of trauma and suffering inflicted upon them will endure long after the immediate crisis subsides. The world must not forget nor forgive those complicit in this humanitarian catastrophe.
