“Israeli Finance Minister Opposes Gaza Ceasefire Deal”

-

Israel’s Finance Minister from the far-right, Bezalel Smotrich, has voiced his opposition to the Gaza ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas. Smotrich made it clear that he would vote against the deal but did not mention any intention to resign from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government.

In a statement, Smotrich expressed concerns about the potential consequences of releasing imprisoned individuals and allowing a new generation of terrorist leaders to emerge. He emphasized the need to prevent further bloodshed and highlighted that celebrating the deal or supporting it is not in Israel’s best interest.

While acknowledging the anticipated return of all hostages, Smotrich emphasized the importance of continuing efforts to eradicate Hamas and disarm Gaza completely to ensure Israel’s security. He stressed that the end of the conflict should not signal the end of Israel’s commitment to neutralize the threat posed by Hamas.
