Babar Azam made history by becoming the top run-scorer in T20 Internationals as Pakistan secured a convincing nine-wicket victory over South Africa in the second T20I held in Lahore. This win leveled the ongoing three-match series at 1-1.

The Pakistani skipper, Babar Azam, finished the match unbeaten with 11 runs off 18 balls, bringing his total T20I runs to 4,234, surpassing India’s Rohit Sharma. Prior to this, opener Saim Ayub impressed with a quickfire 71 off 38 deliveries, while seamer Faheem Ashraf shone with figures of 4-23, showcasing Pakistan’s dominance with both bat and ball.

Opting to field after winning the toss, Pakistan restricted South Africa to a mere 110 runs in 19.2 overs. Salman Mirza also played a crucial role with his 3-14 bowling performance. Dewald Brevis was the lone resistance for the visitors, contributing 25 runs off 16 balls, amid the challenging seam movement that led to six wickets falling bowled.

In pursuit of the target, Pakistan comfortably chased it down with 41 balls to spare. Sahibzada Farhan added 28 runs off 23 deliveries before getting dismissed leg-before by Corbin Bosch. The two teams will clash again at the same venue on Saturday for the series decider.
