-

The Indian women’s cricket team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, secured a historic victory at the ICC Women’s World Cup by defeating South Africa in the final in Navi Mumbai. In recognition of this remarkable achievement, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a generous reward of Rs 51 crore for the team. This significant cash prize from the BCCI will be distributed among all team members, support staff, and the national selection committee.

BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia expressed the board’s appreciation by highlighting the substantial reward for the World Cup-winning team. He mentioned that the increase in prize money for Indian women cricketers, which was tripled, was a gesture initiated by the current ICC chairman and former BCCI secretary, Jay Shah.
