Nine individuals, including five Italian climbers, lost their lives due to severe snowstorms and an avalanche in the perilous Himalayan ranges of Nepal, as confirmed by authorities. The fatalities resulted from two distinct incidents that occurred since Friday. Yesterday, tragedy struck when an avalanche engulfed a group of 12 individuals at the base camp of the 5,630-meter (18,471-foot) Yalung Ri peak, situated in central Nepal in close proximity to the Chinese border.
The catastrophic event claimed the lives of seven individuals, comprising three Italians, two Nepalis, a German, and a French climber, as reported by Phurba Tenjing Sherpa from Dreamers Destination, the expedition organizer, to AFP.
