“Taliban accuses Pakistan of violating Kabul’s sovereignty”

-

The Taliban government made an accusation against Pakistan on Thursday, claiming a breach of Kabul’s sovereignty following two explosions in the capital city. This marks the first time the Taliban have alleged such a deep incursion by Islamabad, labeling it an unprecedented transgression. The Defense Ministry posted on social media, asserting that Pakistan had infringed on Afghanistan’s airspace by targeting a civilian market in the Marghi area of Paktika near the Durand Line, in addition to encroaching on Kabul’s sovereign territory. The ministry condemned the acts as violent and heinous, describing them as historically significant for both Afghanistan and Pakistan. While the statement did not provide specifics on how Kabul’s territory was violated, witnesses in the Afghan capital reported hearing two loud blasts. Locals in Marghi confirmed that a market known for selling second-hand weapons had been targeted in the reported incident. This incident has sparked tensions between the two neighboring nations, with Afghanistan raising serious concerns over the alleged breach of its territory by Pakistan.
